Meet Brandon Groppi, Editor and Filmographer at RocketBrand

What is your background?

My main background is in the film industry. I worked on sets for films and commercials, and did plenty of editing for things like Lincoln Motor Company and Frederator (the creators of Adventure Time and Fairly Odd Parents).

What drew you to a career in marketing and advertising?

I wanted a new challenge. I knew nothing about this world. I came from film and television mainly doing narrative work.

What’s your favorite part about working at RocketBrand?

I love the atmosphere and the people at RocketBrand. It’s what keeps me going.

What do you do outside of work?

I love to cook, play guitar and other instruments, cosplay, and write screenplays. I also volunteer at Children’s Hospitals as Batman.

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever been on?

I took a road trip to Colorado in 2017 on a whim. It was so freeing and fun— mountains are my absolute favorite now.

What’s your guilty pleasure movie or show?

Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance is the best unintentional comedy of 2011 and I love it.

Best Dallas BBQ?

My brother’s BBQ.

What music are you currently listening to?

I’m listening to a lot of Woodkid. Gives me a lot of film ideas.

What inspires you?

Filmmaking has been my passion ever since I was 7 years old. It’s what’s kept me going most of my life. But mostly helping other people is what makes me feel whole.

What advice you’d give someone looking to get into Marketing and Advertising?

Be willing to get out of your comfort zone in terms of what you know about media.
